Josephine Mathias: Small steps to fight anti-black racism
The problem, of course, is that when people are outraged, solutions like criminal justice reform and education, which will take years, seem too far away to be an answer. When you feel threatened by police today, the promise of the next generation graduating from an improved school system doesn’t make you feel any safer. Demanding police revise their crowd-control training won’t help you while you’re being teargassed.
But until these things change, nothing will.
